Today is my last day at JWT, I’ve had an awesome two weeks and I’ve met some lovely people that I will hopefully keep in touch with. I’ve been lucky enough to get involved with lots of different aspects of advertising- many that I didn’t even know existed- and they are all completely different. One of the key points I’ve noticed is how important communication is. Whether it’s between departments, clients, the media or fellow employees, its imperative for a successful business that everyone knows what is going on. Yesterday for example all employees as JWT were required to attend a meeting, everyone gathered in reception and listened eagerly as the ‘top dogs’ of the company gave speeches and updates such as how it went at the Cannes festival, praising recent campaigns and what is coming up, followed by free drinks on the teras- another important element, incentives!
Everyone here seems to love their job and has a huge amount of passion and enthusiasm which has been very inspiring. Rosie, a very talented TV Producer has probably inspired me the most, she gets to travel a lot, be creative, meet new people and is not sat at a computer all day (very important factor!) and gets to work closely with the creative’s who are great fun!
As sad as i am to be leaving i have amazing things to look forward to until i return to uni. When i leave today i will make my way to The Landmark Hotel to meet my family for a weekend at Wireless full of shopping, lush food, a meal at Beach Blanket Babylon ending with VIP Take That concert! Sheesh and then it is less than a week until Bennicassim and Bacelonaaa!
