Life as we know it

Sometimes I loose track of what I really want to achieve in life. I might be studying fashion- which according to many people from home- isn’t a real course! They really under estimate how much hard work a course like mine is. One boy on our course who studied Law last year and changed to FCP this year, said our course was harder because you get solid work throughout whereas with Law you can just cram revise at the end (I am aware this might cause some controversy)… So rant over and back to my point. I want to use what I learn at University to help people and try to ‘make a difference’. So I got a bit side tracked but was reminded of this while researching for my Luxury article and came across some really interesting ways that people have used fashion to ‘make a difference’.

Laura Bush is hoping to sell 500,000 burlap bags to feed the children of Rwanda for a full year and kicked things off by visiting central Africa and documented her trip with some amazing photos. How amazing would it be to have a job where you get to travel the world, take photographs, help people less fortunate and still be a part of the fashion world!? Amazing.

Also if you haven’t seen this already, this is something that has probably influenced me the most. Natalia Vodianava’s Naked Heart Foundation. An incredible model that used her success to build ‘safe and inspiring environments in which every child can play’.

I'm not saying im going to solve world poverty, end global warming and go down in hostory, but i would like to do something beneficial with my life.
So I have to keep my head screwed on, remind myself why I am here and not get caught up in the whirlwind that is the fashion industry.
